The fatal police shooting this month of a D.C. violence interrupter and the release of body-camera video from the officers who fired their weapons have sparked outrage among some District residents, particularly in the Southeast Washington neighborhood where the victim, 26-year-old Justin Robinson, was well-known.

The Sept. 1 shooting occurred at a McDonald’s in Southeast Washington. On Monday, the police department publicly posted body-camera footage of Robinson’s death at the request of his family, eliciting a spasm of protest in the District.
