Helier Cheung is a breaking news editor for The Washington Post's London hub, covering news as it unfolds in the United States and around the globe during overnight and early morning hours in Washington.
Before joining The Post in August 2021, she worked as a news editor and writer for the BBC in London, Singapore and Washington. She was deployed to cover the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, the 2019 Hong Kong protests, and the 2018 rescue of 12 boys and their soccer coach from a cave in Thailand. She also has worked as the BBC’s Hong Kong correspondent.
